Babyshambles are a band created and fronted by Pete Doherty, who rose to fame in The Libertines. The band has received large amounts of tabloid attention due to Doherty's drug addiction, their shambolic live performances and their frequent failures to show up at scheduled gigs. The band was formed towards the end of Doherty's time in The Libertines as a response after he was not allowed back into the band. In February 2006, the band also won the Naomi Award for Worst Live Act. On February 23rd, 2006 Pete Doherty received an NME award for sexiest male, he also performed with his band Babyshambles on the night. In August, Babyshambles signed up with major record label Parlophone, on which they released "The Blinding EP", consisting of five tracks ("The Blinding", "I Love You (But You're Green)", "I Wish", "Beg Steal or Borrow" and "Sedative") on December 4. They are still in negotiations for an album deal with Parlophone, Warner Bros. Records and B-Unique Records.
