Shortly after, Girls Aloud set records as the first all-girl group to debut at number one in the United Kingdom, and as the fastest group to hit number one after forming The Rivals in the UK. The quinted Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine, Nicola and Sarah released their first single "" Sounds of the Underground"" in November 2002. The single was a massive hit and reached number one on the British charts. In less than a year, Girls Aloud has raised the stakes in UK pop.
